Susan Leigh Gist-Sloan

Susan Leigh Gist-Sloan, 63, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 in Ft. Smith. She was born Sept. 1, 1953 in Little Rock. Her special birthday was May 28, 1955 when her adoptive parents, the late Olen and Billie Gist picked her up. Susan was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a retired surgical technologist from University Hospital in Columbia, Mo., and for H & R Block as a tax preparer. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Susan is survived by her husband Richard Sloan of Ft. Smith, her brother, Steve Gist and his wife Lucy of Ft. Smith, and her sister Lisa Gibson and her husband Howard of Atkins. Nephews: Jeff Gist and his wife Liz, Joel Gist and his fiancé Kerri, John Gist and Russell Gibson, Niece Molly Gibson, grandniece Sloan Gist and grandnephew William Gist.
