Maxine Gillespie

Maxine D. Gillespie, age 84, of Bryant; went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, May 15, 2017. She was born August 19, 1932 in Malvern, Arkansas to the former Floyd and Lillie Draper. Maxine was retired from Reynolds Metals Company in Bauxite and a member of Park Place Baptist Church in Bryant where she attended the Soul Winners Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; her mother, father and two brothers. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Chris Cozart; two granddaughters, Shelley Purtle (Blain) of Bryant and Sarah Vanya (Robert) of Tomball, Texas; four great-granddaughters, Danielle & Natalie Vanya of Tomball, Texas, Jordyn & Carlie Purtle of Bryant; one great-grandson, Logan Vanya of Tomball, Texas; one sister, Christine Bittles of Malvern and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 16 at Ashby Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 17 at Pine Crest Memorial Park.
