Maynard Bradley Locke of Redfield, Ark., was born Sept., 12, 1937 in Gardiner, Maine, the son of the late Charles V. and Goldie Irene Stickney Locke. Brad enlisted in the United States Air Force after high school and dedicated his life to the service of our country. During this honorable service he was selected to be Crew Chief of the highly sophisticated SR 71 Elite Spy Plane during the Vietnam War; this was a position he proudly held for five years. Eventually, Brad retired as a Master Sergeant from the Air Force after serving 21 years. He then was offered a security position at the Pine Bluff Arsenal and eventually retired as a shift supervisor from there as well. Brad was a member of Lone Pine Missionary Baptist Church where he grew in faith, service, and love for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In his free time he enjoyed being a member of Lakeside Country Club where he indulged his passion for bass fishing with the many lures he had collected over the years. Mr. Locke died Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 79. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Fern, Shirley and Alice and a brother, Charles. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Linda Lee Clark Locke of Redfield; son, David Charles Locke and his wife Christina of White Hall; daughters, JoAnn Addison and her husband Mark of Redfield; Lori Witherington and her husband Harvey of Covington, Tenn.; Lynda Gonzalez and her husband Marcelo of Redfield; 10 grandchildren Nicole and her husband Ryan, Kristin, Mark Jr., Melanie and her husband Robby, Jason, Micah, Tristhon, Natalie, Madelyn, and Lily; one great-grandchild, Leah, and one on the way, Aubrey. Brad also leaves behind a host of dearly loved extended family, friends, and his precious puppy companion, Emily. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2017 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Brother Ron Meredith officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. Burial will follow at Redfield Cemetery. Pallbearers are Mark Addison Sr., Mark Addison Jr., Harvey Witherington, Cameron Bennett, Marcelo Gonzalez, and Jim Welch.
