Betty S. Johnston Schwartz, 81, of Russellville, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017 in Fort Smith, Ark. The daughter of Roy and Minnie Johnston, she was born Apr. 6, 1936 in Russellville. She married Richard "Dick" Schwartz on June 15, 1957 in Russellville. She graduated Russellville High School and attended Arkansas Tech University. She retired after 46 years with Tyson Foods (formally Fox Deluxe Foods). She was member of St. John's Catholic Church in Russellville. She was preceded in death by her twin daughters, Stacey and Tracey Schwartz; her parents; and her three brothers, Raymond, Herman, and Bill Johnston. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Dick Schwartz; sisters-in-law, Bonnie and Kitty Johnston; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday, May 22, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. at Humphrey Funeral Service in Russellville followed by a Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at St. John's Catholic Church, with Father Jack Sidler officiating. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park at Russellville by Humphrey Funeral Service. Memorials may be made to St. John's Catholic Church, 1900 W. Main St., Russellville, Ark. 72801. The Pallbearers will be several of her nephews, namely Steve Johnston, Larry Schwartz, Mike Schwartz, Frank Hug, Donald Schwartz and David Meek. Honorary Pallbearers are Bob Jacimore, Martha Bright, Daisy Robinson, Leona Rose, Peggy Wilson, Al Polczynski, Bob Zimmerman, Harold Zimmer, Dr. Notto, Dr. Tom Werner, Keith Wills and Gary Johnston. Special thanks to the Mercy Hospice team, the Home Instead companions and the Brookdale staff for all the loving care and support to Betty and the family.
