James W. Hutchins, 74, of Conway, Ark., went to be with his Lord and savior on May 25, 2017. He was born Dec. 19, 1942, the son of the late Willie and Susie Willis Hutchins and was raised in Lamar Arkansas. He graduated from Lamar High School in 1962. He was one time owner of Hutchins Floor Covering. He spent 40 plus years in flooring sales and installation, and would often say the best part of his job was meeting and visiting with people. Especially older people and the stories they would tell. His greatest joy was his son, grandchildren and great-granddaughters. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Survived by his wife, Janice Mallett Hutchins of Conway; son, Jimmy (Meredith) Hutchins of Springdale; four grandchildren, Meghan (Paul) Shannon of Mountain Grove, Mo., Alexandra Hutchins of Little Rock, Layne Hutchins and Conner Hutchins both of Springdale; four great-granddaughters, Braylee, Brystol, Bryndli, and Brytinn, all of Mt. Grove, Mo.; two sisters, Gloria (David) Mason of Lamar, and Marilyn (Charles) Brown of Clarksville; one brother, Ray (Loretta) Hutchins of Lamar; several nieces and nephews. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his youngest son Robert. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, at the Harris Chapel with Bro. Mark McDonald Officiating. Burial will be 1 p.m. at Minnow Creek Cemetery in Hagarville, Ark., by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 29, at the funeral home.
