Ray Charles Hand

Ray Hand, 81, of Sherwood, departed this earth to be with his Lord and Savior on May 24, 2017. He was born in North Little Rock to L.R. and Marie Hand on Oct. 25, 1935. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, earning a Purple Heart. He retired from the Pulaski County Special School District, serving as a bus driver. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Bobbye Kaye Thompson. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 58 years, Frances Hand; daughters, Cindy Lackey (Sam) of Sherwood and Tammy Phillips (Johnny) of North Little Rock; grandchildren, Rachel and Joseph Lackey and Savannah and Nick Phillips (Sarah); great-grandson, Landon Phillips; and sister, Pat Powers (Jim) of Hendersonville, N.C. Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
