Charles Wesley Phillips of Pasadena, Texas passed away at the age of 82 on October 13, 2017. Charles was born on January 6, 1935 in Damascus, Arkansas to the late David and Beatrice Phillips. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn, to whom he was married 57 1/2 years, and one sister, Emilee Anderson. Charles attended Life Bridge Baptist Church in Deer Park, Texas. Mr. Phillips retired from truck driving at the age of 78. His truck was affectionately known as the second love of his life. When not driving, he could be found doing maintenance or cleaning it. He is survived by his son, Terry Phillips and wife Sandy of Deer Park, Texas, daughter, Nancy Layton and husband, Lonnie of Pasadena, Texas, granddaughter, Valarie Keener and husband Robby of League City, Texas, step-granddaughters, Jennifer Whiting and husband Bryan of Tomball, Texas, Julie Ruby and husband Mike of Magnolia, Texas, one sister, Betty Smith of Damascus, Arkansas, one brother, Mike Phillips and wife Flora of Damascus, Arkansas, and numerous other relatives and friends. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday November 3rd, 2017 at Pine Mountain Cemetery. Special thanks to Pastor Charlie Ellison and the folks of Life Bridge Baptist Church for visiting, singing and praying with him during his illness.
