Elvin E. Carroll Sr.

Mr. Elvin E. Carroll Sr., 69 of Jacksonville, Ark. passed Monday, October 23, 2017 Elvin Earl Carroll, Sr. was the first born of Elvin M. Carroll and Vodia Crain Carroll on the June 24, 1948. While growing up in Pine Bluff, he accepted Christ at an early age and practiced his Baptist Faith at Lampkin's Chapel MBC throughout his childhood and stayed true to his faith throughout his adult life. Elvin was a 1966 graduate of Merrill, Jr. – Sr. High School and later a graduate of AM&N College (UAPB) with a degree in biology. He started his federal government career with the US in the US Department of Agriculture, retiring from the US Postal Service. Elvin was proceeded in death by his parents, sibling Q.C. Carroll, Lawrence Wesley Carroll and Erma Jean Clark. He leaves to mourn his death siblings Milton (JoAnn) of Little Rock, Arkansas. Lavonne (Elliott) Carroll Gilbert of Arlington, Texas and Norma Jean Nicholson of Pontiac, Michigan. Three children Kim Carroll of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Elvin (Leslie) Carroll Jr. of Kentwood, Michigan and Farrell Carroll of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends with special friends Monetta Higgins & her family and Bettye Stewart, mother of his children. Elvin was a quiet, simple man who loved to read especially the Bible, 50's TV programs, music & his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. A Graveside Service will be 10 a.m., Friday, November 3, 2017 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, Ark. by Judge Marion Humphrey. Visitation will be Thursday, 5-6:30 p.m., at Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff, Ark.
