H. Russell Albright

Dr. H. Russell Albright passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2017, at the age of 83. Dr. Albright was born on March 1, 1934 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He graduated from Clarksville High School. Dr. Albright's undergraduate studies were at the University of the Ozarks and he graduated from the University of Arkansas Medical School. He served his radiology residency at Ochsner Foundation. Dr. Albright joined Dr. Abner Landry in his radiology practice in 1968, which became the Landry-Albright Radiology Group, Inc. at Mercy Hospital in New Orleans. Dr. Albright retired in 1992. He served in the United States Navy. Dr. Albright was a member of the American Medical Association, the Louisiana State Medical Society and the New Orleans Museum of Art. Dr. Albright filled many roles at the Museum. In addition to his longtime status as a Fellow, he also served for a time as a board member, and made substantial and generous gifts of art works to both the department of photographs, and the modern and contemporary art department. He was preceded in death by his parents and his longtime partner, Michael P. Myers. A Memorial Service will be held at the New Orleans Museum of Art on Sunday, November 12, 2017 beginning at 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the University of the Ozarks, 415 North College Avenue, Clarksville, Ark. 72830, in Memory of H.
