Barbara Jean McHenry Carpenter died November 21, 2017, peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. Barbara was born on April 16, 1932, in Little Rock, to Vera McHenry. She was preceded in death by her mother Vera, her husband, Claude and her daughters, Kelly and Kim. She is survived by her son, Pat Carpenter (Joni); granddaughters, Mollie, Olivia (Allison), and Katie; grandson, Austin; and great-grandson, Xander; and great-granddaughter, Charlotte. Barbara was a secretary for the Faubus Administration where she met her husband, Claude, and her wonderful life really began. She will be remembered by many whether it be from her time hosting a morning show on Channel 7, to running Claude's political campaigns, the Shack BBQ Restaurant, her time serving for the American Legion, serving as an administrator in the healthcare realm, or traveling the world with her beloved Claude. Her love of animals knew no size. From her time racing thoroughbreds down to her darling shi-tzu Sadie and all the stray cats in between. Visitation will be Saturday, November 25, at 12 noon with funeral services at 1 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 West 12th Street, Little Rock.
