James (Jim) Richard Rocconi

James (Jim) Richard Rocconi was born Oct. 24, 1940 in Lake Village, Ark. He went to be with the Lord on Nov. 24, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. A.S. Rocconi of Lake Village, Ark., and infant daughter Andrea of Camden, Ark. He is survived by two sisters Agnes Borneman and Carol Rocconi, three children Cindy Mounts (Ricky), Phil Rocconi (Melissa), Tony Rocconi (April), 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren and his beloved dog JuJu. Dr. Rocconi, known as "Doc" to everyone, received his degree in veterinary medicine in 1965 at Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He moved to Camden, Ark., and started Camden Animal Hospital where he practiced full time for 52 years. Doc was loved by so many. He was always willing to help out anyone or their pets at anytime. He supported the local agriculture youth throughout the years with countless scholarships for the FFA. He was a longstanding member of the St. Louis Catholic Church and served as active Parish Council member. Doc served on the Ouachita County Fair Board for many years and supported the Camden Police And Ouachita County Sherif K-9 units as well many other community services. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m., at Proctor Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m., at St. Louis Catholic Church with Father Robert Cigainero officiating. A 3 p.m., graveside will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery in Lake Village, Ark. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Louis Catholic Church in Camden, Ark., or the Ouachita County Animal Protection Society (OCAPS).
