Margie Edgin

Margie Sheppard Edgin, 97, of Benton, passed to a better life on Nov. 22, 2017. She was born to Alfred and Cora Sheppard on Nov. 29, 1919, in Sheridan, Ark. Mrs. Edgin retired from Alcoa as a LPTN and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Benton. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Inez Sheppard; husband, Loyce "Boog" Edgin; daughter, Ellen Yvonne; two brothers, Junior and Stamps Sheppard; three sisters, O'Neal Jones, Virgie Kerr and Neoma McCallister; and a grandson, Paul Alarcon. She is survived by her children, Sandra Alarcon, Eddie Edgin; Wayne Edgin (Phyllis) and Tammie Spradlin (Rodney); nine grandchildren, Marlon Alarcon (Susan), Jodi Harris (Tim), Kari Dycus (Brent), Steven Mcghee (Cheri), Greg Edgin (Paige), Jon Edgin (Michelle), Wade Edmondson (Michelle), Bliss Kelly (Josh) and Jaye Spradlin (Lindsey); nine great-grandchildren & one on the way; six great-great-grandchildren and two great-great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26 at Ashby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27 at First Baptist Church in Benton with burial at Pine Crest Memorial Park.
