Leonard Peter Rospond

Leonard Peter Rospond, 87, of Bella Vista, Ark., died on Sept. 28, 2017. He was born on Jan. 18, 1930 to Frank Rospond and Mae Marek in Chicago, Ill. Len served as a Medical Detachment Sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954 during the Korean War. He married Donna Mae Neises on June 23, 1956 and had three sons, Steve, Scott, and David. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an accounting major from Roosevelt University in Chicago, Ill., in 1960. He became a certified public accountant in 1965. He worked as an auditor for George Bagley and Company for four years before joining Sears Roebuck and Company where he worked in various positions for over 20 years. Upon retiring, he enjoyed traveling and golf. He is survived by his wife of over 61 years, Donna Mae and three sons, Steven Francis, Scott Leonard (Raylene), David Francis (Shannon); grandchildren, Jacob Gabriel, Lucas Josiah, Jesse Elijah, Sage Elizabeth; Joshua Scott, Heather Brianna, Bethany Ann, Ethan Christopher, Charise Marie, Chase David, one great-grandchild Rowan Daniel Jones; sister, Phyllis Markiewicz (Richard) and brother, Thomas Rospond (Virginia); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Teresa and many friends and relatives. Visitation will be at 1 p.m.; Rosary at 1:30 p.m. and Mass of the Resurrection at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 3 at St. Bernard Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow in the Columbarium at St. Bernard's Catholic Church at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Ark., or The Myositis Association.
