Franklin Delano Poe Sr., 83, of Benton, passed away Friday, Sept. 29, 2017. He was born March 19, 1934 in Leachville, Ark., to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Poe. Frank was a lifelong Baptist. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He retired from the freight industry in 1999. Frank was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Almedia Poe; a sister, Alma Phillips, of Cabot; and a brother, James Lee Poe, of Leachville. He is also survived by a son, Franklin (Cindy) Poe; Tim (Sherri) Poe; a daughter, Karen (Steve) Hawkins, all of Benton; and grandchildren; Rachel (Bryan) Garner, Randi (Guy) Cain, Timmy (Ashley) Poe, Gill (Jeremy) Heatley, Tyler Hawkins, Taylor (Andrew) Johnson; and six great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews. A graveside service is planned at Pinecrest Memorial Park at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Saline Memorial Hospice, Bryant Ark.
