Eugene Miller

After more than 90 years on this earth and more than 50 years in God's ministry, Eugene Miller, 90 of Greenwood, Ark. went home to be with his Lord he served, on Thursday, October 5, 2017 in Greenwood, Ark. During the 50 years of ministry, he pastored New Home and Cedar Branch out of Pine Bluff and Hensley Missionary Baptist Church in Hensley and loved the congregations in all of them. Before pastoring churches, he served his country in the United States Marines. Eugene Miller was born March 17, 1927 in his parent's home, George and Elizabeth Miller, near Palestine, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; his two brothers, Joe Tom Miller and Robert Miller; and his two sisters, Gordia Lillian Miller and Georgia Vivian Sparkman, all of Athens, Texas. He was also preceded in death by his son, Glynn Miller of Hensley, Ark. He is survived by his wife of more than 61 years, Charlene Moore Miller; daughter, Gena and her husband, Alan Anderson, all of Greenwood, Ark. His survivors also include two grandchildren, Stephanie Anderson Harrington and husband, Matthew Harrington of Frisco, Texas and Brent Anderson and wife, Jennifer Anderson of Lantana, Texas; and five great grandchildren, Lucas, Georgia Claire, and Stella Mae Harrington, Parker Cate and Sloane Ivey Anderson; and many more family and friends. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Palmyra Cemetery Fund, c/o Heather Fry, 217 Jeff Rd., Star City, Ark. 71667. Visitation will be from 12:30-2 p.m. Saturday and services will follow at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church at Palmyra. Burial at Palmyra Cemetery.
