Edna Marie Durham

Edna Marie Durham, 91, of Springdale, Ark., passed away Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017 at the Shiloh Nursing and Rehab Center. Edna was born on Nov. 2, 1925 in Choteau, Okla., a daughter of William Humphrey Youngman and Margaret Earle "Shirley" Evans Youngman (Sharp). She was the widow of the late George Durham. Edna worked many years as the head cook for the Westwood Elementary School in Springdale. For many years she was a very active member of the Sonora Baptist Church in their kitchen. She had been a past president of the Home Extension Club and volunteered her time at the Springdale Memorial Hospital in the Gift Shop of the second tower. Edna left all of these activities in 1996 to raise her granddaughter Harlee, which she loved spending as much time with as possible. She is survived by one son, Tom and wife Susie Durham of Springdale; four grandchildren, Amy Anders and husband Daniel, Zachary Durham, Lisa Lowry and husband Michael, and David Durham and fiancée Melissa Glasscock; six great-grandchildren, Emily Hulsey and husband Aaron, Harlee Marcum and fiancé Hunter Wright, Danielle Anders, Courtney Fields, Kyle Fields and Lorisa Lowry; two great-great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Trace Hulsey. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, George Ricky Durham. Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., on Monday, Oct. 9, 2017 at the Friendship Cemetery.
