Daniel Lynn McQueen, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on October 8, 2017 surrounded by his family after a valiant battle with pancreatic and liver cancer. Danny was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on December 14, 1941 to Walter McQueen and Doris Brown McQueen. Danny attended Ouachita Baptist University and was a member of the Heritage Club at Second Baptist Church. He worked many years for Missouri Pacific Railroad/Union Pacific Railroad and then at the Little Rock Wastewater Utility – where he gained many special friends, including Billy, Ava, Steve, and Tim. Danny loved hunting and fishing, and telling tall tales of his adventures. He recently returned from his annual fishing trip to Canada with special friend, Buddy Emerson. He was preceded in death by his parents. Danny is survived by his wife of 54 years, Peggy Nickell McQueen; daughters, Susan McQueen Raines (Brian) of Bentonville, Ark., Melanie McQueen Block (Jake) of Nashville, Tenn., and Patti McQueen Hickam (Dan) of Little Rock, Ark.; his brother Brock McQueen (Ann) of Little Rock, Ark.; nephew, Ian McQueen (Erin); niece, Megan McQueen Crow (Nick); the grandchildren he loved so dearly, Olivia Claire Raines, Ashlyn Grace Raines, Benjamin Wyatt Block, Owen David Block, and Brandon Elliott Hickam; and special neighbor, Mary Maier. The family would like to extend their thanks to all the wonderful staff at CARTI, especially Dr. Grace Raja and Ashley; the care team on the 10th floor; ICU at Baptist Medical Center; and the many angels that prepared liver and onions, sent cards, and delivered homemade cookies. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the funeral home. Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 13, 2017 at Roller Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas (501) 224-8300.
