William Allan Maguire

William Allan "Al" Maguire of Little Rock, died October 10, 2017 at Hospice in Little Rock. He was born September 12, 1938 in Little Rock to Milton and Ruth Maguire. He was reared and educated in Pine Bluff graduating from Pine Bluff High School where he studied music. He attended Wichita State University where he obtained a music degree. He also attended Oklahoma State University where he obtained an engineering degree. This led to his employment with AP&L, now Entergy where he worked for 28 years up until his retirement. Some of his loves when he was younger were running 50 and 100 milers, building and racing motorcycles, he taught Judo and was a second degree black belt, showing dogs in dog shows and in his later years he loved playing music with the Irish Session. He was crazy about his grandkids and would play his button accordion every chance he got for them. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Martha (Elmore) Maguire; one daughter, Kelly (Paul) Cantrell; and two grandchildren, Mason and Morgan. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, October 14, at Elmwood Cemetery with Rev. Frank LeBlanc officiating. Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
