Ralph Garner Rogers III, a long time resident of Little Rock, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017. Born in Hope, Ark. to the late Ralph Garner Rogers Jr. and Alice Jane Rogers, Ralph graduated from Hope High School, served overseas in the U.S. Navy from 1986 to 1991 and attended The University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Ralph worked as a peer counselor for The Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System. He had a heart of gold and embodied compassion, generosity and a selfless comitment to others. Ralph never met a stranger and he was known for his infectious smile. He was a fighter for the unfortunate, the broken and those that couldn't stand up for themselves. Ralph was awarded Volunteer Of The Year by Governor Mike Beebe in 2013. He was an active volunteer in many charitable organizations serving veterans, the homeless and those seeking recovery. Ralph loved his friends and family, God, The Razorbacks, veterans and music. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and dear friends, Ronnie "Rollo" Cornelius and Miles Ledwig. Survived by two children, Brittany Rogers and Joseph Rogers both from Fayetteville and his sister, Cherry Parmer of Hope, Ark. Those who desire may make memorial contributions to The Homeless Benefit Golf Tournament of St. Francis House for rapid rehousing of homeless veterans, 2701 S. Elm St., Little Rock, Ark. 72204.
