Travis Lee Cheney

Travis Lee Cheney, age 76, of Fayetteville passed away Wednesday October 18, 2017 in Fayetteville. He was born July 23, 1941 in Jenny, Arkansas the son of Lee and Lorena Thomas Cheney. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. He retired from St. Louis Southwestern Cotton Belt Railroad company where he worked as a conductor. He was a member of Farmington Methodist Church and was a charter member of the Road Hog Club. He is survived by his wife Stephanie Cheney; two sons Tim Cheney and his wife Tracey and Tommy Cheney and his wife Kathy all of Fayetteville; five grandchildren Tye, Tripp, Trapper, Savannah and Kade Cheney all of Fayetteville; one sister Madaline Burgess of Pratsville, Arkansas; two brothers John L. Cheney of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Horace Cheney of Bastrop, Louisiana; and one nephew Dr. James Burgess of Russellville, Arkansas and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday October 22 at the Road Hog Park casual attire as well as Razorback apparel is encouraged to be worn in honor of Travis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Razorback Foundation, Farmington Methodist Church or Hope Cancer Resources. Cremation is under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home.
