Wesley Ray Cardwell

Wesley Ray Cardwell, 59, of Russellville, died Saturday, October 21, 2017, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. A son of William "Bill," Sr. and Jewell Ann (Navert) Cardwell, he was born December 5, 1957, in Blytheville, Ark. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Marketing from the University of Central Arkansas, where he was also an active Student Senate officer and alumni of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity brotherhood. He was a retired Area Manager for 18 years with Cargill Foods in Springdale, and also worked 6 years with Tyson Foods. He enjoyed his career and always presented a strong, professional work ethic. Ray worshiped with friends and church family in the Methodist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Debbie Ann Serrano; and a nephew, Ronnie Jack Serrano. He is survived by his son, David Cardwell (Shana) of Russellville; a brother, William "Boyd" Cardwell Jr. of Jonesboro; a sister, Margaret Elaine Cardwell of Springdale; a grandson, Talon Cardwell, and granddaughter, Sophia Cardwell both of Russellville; two nieces, Leslie Ann Serrano of Springdale, and Vivian Grace Cardwell, of Fayetteville; and a nephew, Sean Bishop, of Springdale. Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at Humphrey Chapel. Rev. Gail Brooks, Associate Pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Russellville will officiate. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Russellville, by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
