Gaylord Gene (Charley) Weaver, of Springdale, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017 after a hard fought battle with cancer, with his beloved Linda at his bedside. He was born May 25, 1939, in Missoula, Mont., the son of Darryl and Lucille (Harrison) Weaver. His father passed early in his life and his mother moved the family to Dillon, Mont. There, she met and married Dan Novich. Dan was the significant male role model in Charley's life. Charley attended school in Dillon and graduated from Beaverhead County High School in 1957. Charley worked over 30 years in the transportation industry, including his own brokerage, Tyson Foods, and Ozark Truck Brokerage, retiring from Ozark in 2004. He married Annette Denny in 1959 and the marriage produced five children. In 1982, he married Linda Neil with whom he had a long and loving marriage. Charley is survived by six of his seven children. His daughter, Darian Vanderhofven and grandson, Joshua Vanderhofven, were victims of the 2011 Joplin, Mo. tornado. He is survived by his sons: Dan Weaver of Racine, Mo, Dean (Howard) Weaver of Butte, Mont.; Jeff Neil of Fayetteville, Ark., Patrick Weaver of Phoenix, Ariz., and Travis Weaver of Hollister, Calif.; his daughter, Genell Day of Oracle, Ariz.; two brother: Raymond Weaver of Wisdom, Mont. and Richard Weaver of Deer Lodge, Mont. He was blessed with grandchildren: James Weaver, Jason Weaver, Kaili Holloway, Megan Russell, Blake Neil, Taylor Neil, Tanner Neil, Kaden Weaver, Braylon Weaver, Braedon Day and Jesse Day; and six great-grandchildren. At Charley's request, there will be no services. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home, 3926 Willowood Avenue, Springdale, Ark., 72762.
