Herman Logue, 87, of Glendale passed away Sept. 2, 2017 at CHI St. Vincent in Little Rock. He was born March 14, 1930 to Earnest and Emma (Tiner) Logue. He was their first born son and grew up on their family farm, near Star City, where he would become his father's right hand man. It was on the farm where he acquired the traits that defined him: love of family, hard work, love thy neighbor, and a connoisseur of home cooked southern cuisine-not necessarily in that order. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Sue (Dot) Phillips on Feb. 12, 1949. He worked at Meyer's Bakery for 20 years. He later became a master electrician and worked at Carrington Electric until he retired in 1993. He was the patriarch of his family and all holidays were hosted at his home. He was a provider and his devotion to being a grandfather would cause everyone, including his wife, to refer to him as "PawPaw." He was a member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of the Todd Hunting Club. He loved deer hunting and being in the deer woods with his hunting family. He enjoyed reminiscing his past hunting experiences. He loved living in the country and working in his yard and garden. He enjoyed being outside, hunting, and most importantly fellowship with his family, friends, neighbors, and fellow hunters. Always a character with a sense of humor and great ability to listen and a remarkable ability to cheer you up. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Winfred Logue and Leon Logue; three sisters, Gladys Carrington, Katie Jean Rogers and Bernice Logue; and a son, Michael Logue. Survivors include his wife, Dot Logue of Glendale; a son, David Logue of Glendale; four grandchildren, Andrea (Michael) Keane of Grapevine, Texas, Jud (Brittany) Logue of Cabot, Angela (Aaron) Arterberry of Little Rock, and Christina (Cody) Calhoun of Austin, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Jackson and Morgan Logue, and Michael and Kelcey Keane. A visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017 from 9-10 a.m. at Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City followed by a graveside service at 10:30AM at Butler/Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Star City with Bro. Steven Tiner officiating. Pallbearers are Charles Stone, Trey Stone, Steven Stone, Aaron Ross Stone, Joe McBryde, Jeff McBryde, Thomas Carroll Burnett and Jud Logue. Arrangements by Griffin Funeral Service in Star City. Online guestbook at www.griffinfuneralservice.net.
