Ali Ghomghani

Major General Ali Ghomghani was born on Feb. 21, 1928 in Ghomghan, Iran a son of Ayoub and Kolsoum Ghomghani. Ali leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Azemat, three Sons-Behrooz Ghomghani and wife Nooshin of Marietta, Ga., Kam Ghomghani and wife Terri of Lowell, Ark., and Hormoz Ghomghani of Lowell, Ark., two granddaughters, one grandson and four great grandsons. Ali's first priority in life was his family. Ali was a Major General in the Imperial Iranian Airforce for over 31 years, in which he was a jet pilot. Ali came to the United States in 1991 and became a US citizen in 1997. He worked as a People Greeter at the Mall Avenue Walmart for 19 years. He enjoyed greeting the customers and was an inspiration to the employees. He attended New Hope Assembly of God in Rogers with his family. Ali enjoyed spending many hours working outside at his home before he would go to work at Walmart. He loved working in his flower garden where he grew Iris and Roses. His roses were special to him. He would name each rose bush after one of his family members. Visitation will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Springdale on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017 at 10 a.m. Pastor James Longmate and Rev. Kam Ghomghani will officiate the service. Burial to follow at the Fairview Memorial Gardens Cemtery in Fayetteville. To sign online guest book please visit www.backstrom-pyeatte.com.
