K LeAnne Daniel-Myrick

On September 23, 2017, K. LeAnne Daniel-Myrick, age 58, of Glenwood, left the sorrows of this life and joined her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in glory. She was born August 16, 1959, in Malvern, Arkansas, to Thomas Jefferson Daniel and Delores Annette Shinn-Daniel. LeAnne graduated from Kirby High School in 1977. Following her passion for public service she worked for the US Army Corp of Engineers while attending Ouachita Baptist University where she got her BA in 1981. Soon after, she pursued her life-long dream to be an attorney by attending the University of Arkansas-Little Rock Bowen Law School and graduating in 1984. LeAnne joined the Wright, Chaney and Berry Law Firm, in 1984, becoming a partner in 1991 and spent almost 20 years practicing law in Arkadelphia. During this time LeAnne met and nurtured numerous friendships, personal and professional. She soon joined Faith Missionary Baptist Church and taught a youth and young adults Sunday School Class. LeAnne was also deeply involved in the life of the Arkadelphia community and with those young people who thought of "Le or EE" as their big sister or best friend and confidante. To LeAnne, these were "her kids". LeAnne centered her practice in bankruptcy and real estate law. She attended to clients' needs all over Southwest Arkansas and was a member of the Arkansas, Federal and Bankruptcy Bars. She had many close friends in the various bar groups in Arkansas. In 2003, LeAnne decided to "hang a shingle" for her own practice. She took over an established law practice in Nashville, Arkansas and then expanded to include a title company. LeAnne immersed herself in a new community, joining First Baptist Church-Nashville. While in Nashville, she served in various municipal capacities in surrounding communities to include a stint as City Attorney for Mineral Springs and Glenwood. The culmination of her legal career was her appointment in 2006 and later election in 2012 and reelection in 2016 as Pike County District Judge, a position she maintained until her death because of the generosity of the local bar and other District Judges who were willing to serve for her during the months she was incapacitated. LeAnne had a deep and abiding love for her niece and nephews, following their every activity. She was each of their number one fans. LeAnne met and fell in love with Rick Myrick, a Hot Springs businessman and public educator.Their relationship was filled with excitement. LeAnne threw herself into their business enterprises and associated activities. They traveled, as their schedules allowed, going as far as China and as close as their beloved home away from home in Gulfport, Mississippi. Preceding her in death was her beloved father, Tom Daniel. Survivors include her husband, Richard D. Myrick, Sr. of the home; her mother, Delores Annette Daniel; her sister, Lisa and Terry Whitley; her brother, Scott and Angela Daniel; her niece, Spencer Whitley, all of Glenwood; her nephews, Garrett Whitley of Camden, Tyler Joshua Daniel of Hot Springs, Jonathan Scott Daniel and Phillip Jeremiah Daniel, both of Glenwood; four step-children, Rickey Myrick, Martha Weisheit, Elizabeth Myrick and Frances Myrick; a step-grandchild, Eva Myrick; and numerous family and friends. Service will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, in Glenwood First Baptist Church with Bro. Erby Burgess officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, 6 p.m.-8 p.m., at Glenwood First Baptist Church. Interment will be in Prairie Bayou Cemetery, Bismarck, under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ryan's Call Foundation, P.O.
