Stanley Laron "Ronnie" Shepherd

Stanley Laron (Ronnie) Shepherd, 70, passed away with his family by his side September 24, 2017, at the Hospice Home of Little Rock, Ark. He was born to the late Henry "Stanley" and Addie Lee Morris Shepherd on August 1, 1947 at Mayview near DeWitt. He attended DeWitt schools.  After graduation, he worked for Arkla Gas Company, went to flight school, did construction and duck guided for his father-in-law, and logged with his father and then young sons. He owned and operated over the years Shepherd's Grocery, DeWitt Flying Service, which he really enjoyed, and RonCat Trucking. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cathy Jean Varnadore Shepherd, sons and their wives, Stanley Laron Jr. "Stan" and Annette of North Little Rock, Ark. and Lanny Carl and Katelin of Little Rock, two grandchildren he dearly loved, Lexie and Tate of Little Rock, sister, Cathy Ann Austin of DeWitt, and a host of relatives and friends. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 27 at Forks LaGrue Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor's choice or Forks LaGrue Cemetery, P.O.
