Lilburn Leon Edmonson, 89, of Benton, went to be with his Lord on Friday, April 6, 2018. He was born January 28, 1929, in Bauxite, AR to David Franklin and Alice Marie Edmonson. He married the love of his life, Jean Looper, on September 24, 1949 in Benton, AR. He is survived by his children: Donna Edmonson, Danny (Regina) Edmonson, Jackie (Johnny) Dawson and Harold (Renee) Edmonson; his 11 grandchildren: Trina (Jon) Lindsay, Felicia (Daniel) McBay, Shaun Ferguson, Emilee Lindsay, Ryan (Bonnie) Dawson, Rebecca (Bryan) Jones, Matthew (Kym) Edmonson, Tanner (Candace) Smith, Tad Smith, Kelsey (Caitlyn) Crews and Dustin Crews; his 23 great grandchildren and his two great-great grandchildren; sisters, Helen Ward, Verna Mae (Kenneth) Land, Margie Ladd, Mickie White, Linda (Jackie) Hardin, Mary (Terry) Ables; brothers, Thurman (Linda) Edmonson, Phillip Edmonson, Randy (Mae Dine) Edmonson and Lynn (Elaine) Edmonson; sister-in-laws, Bobbie Edmonson, Charlene Edmonson and Recia Edmonson and numerous nieces and newphews. He is preceded in death by his parents David Franklin (Alice Marie) Edmonson; his wife of 68 years, Jean Edmonson; sister, Ruby Ridgeway; brothers, David Franklin Edmonson, Bill Edmonson, Jabo Edmonson, Bob Edmonson, and David Edmonson; his granddaughter, Jaclyn Renee Dawson; sister-in-laws, Imogene Edmonson, Dorothy Edmonson, Peggy Edmonson and Sue Edmonson; brother-in-laws, Johnny Ward, Earl Ridgeway, Glenn Ladd and Gene White. He was a member of Holland Chapel Baptist Church in Benton and served on the Carpenter Crew. He retired from Alcoa after 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He found joy in his faith, family, gardening and woodwork projects—which were always built with love for others. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Holland Chapel in Benton, AR, with Brother Kim Hammer and Nick Calaway officiating. Visitation will be held in the fellowship hall immediately following the service.
