Rory Michael Dalton

Rory Michael Dalton, age 68, of Fayetteville, passed away on April 2, 2018, at his home in Fayetteville. He was born on February 13, 1950, in Omaha, Neb., son of James Leo Dalton and Alice Cecilia Carville Dalton. He is survived by his sisters, Elizabeth Dalton, of New York, and Julie Dalton, of Boston, and his nephew and niece, Matthew Dalton, of Paris, France, and Isabel Dalton Furie, of Ashland, Mass. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, James Leo Jr. Rory was a graduate of the Mount Hermon School in Gill, Mass., and attended Columbia University. He was a formidable chess player (whose email moniker was Aron Nimzowitsch), an avid reader, a guitar player, and an outdoors explorer of Northwest Arkansas and student of its flora and fauna. He was a loving host to family, treating them to his wry humor and showing them the best barbecue (and beer) place he knew. He enjoyed furnishing the place he called home and living his life, assisted along the way by a few special people. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
