Halbert "Hal" Baker, 68, of Haskell, passed away April 10, 2018. He was born September 17, 1949, in Little Rock, to Jack and Jo Ann Montgomery Baker. Hal was a member of the Calvary's Cross Cowboy Church in Malvern, retired from the Haskell Fire Department, Police Deptartment, Arkansas Department of Corrections, and served on the Haskell City Council. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Baker; his grandson, Michael Ryan Baker; and his grandparents, Ione and Percy Baker. Hal is survived by his wife, Betty Baker of Haskell; his sons, Michael (Bree) Baker of Haskell, Eric (Tracy) Baker of Benton; his daughter, Misty (Rebel) Hamilton of Benton; brothers, Jackie Baker of Benton, Mark (Lisa) Baker of Bryant, Dennis Cordell of Missouri, Benny (Gail) Cordell of Texas; his sister, Katie (Roger) Cox of Bryant; mother, Jo Ann Baker Morgan and stepfather, Jack of Texas; his stepmother, Laverne Cole of Bryant; his grandchildren, Emale Baker, Mary Ellynne Baker, David Baker, Deric Baker, Erica Campbell, Sabastian Hamilton, and Gabriel Hamilton; and great-grandchildren, Nolan Baker-Torres and Keaton Baker-Torres. Pallbearers will be Michael Baker, Eric Baker, Rebel Hamilton, Jack Wood, Jimmy Cooper, Mikey Pyne, Shane Gage, Jeff Newcomb, Tylor Smart, and Joseph West. Honorary Pallbearers will be Deric Baker, David Baker, Haskell Fire Department and Haskell Police Department. Church services will be 2 p.m. on Saturday with Bro. Gary Duvall officiating at Cross Bar C Church at 10895 US Hwy. 70. Burial will follow at Mt. Harmony Cemetery in Haskell.
