GEORGE VORSAS, 82, passed away on April 9, 2018. He was born May 7, 1935, in North Little Rock, to the late George Vorsas and Mary Alice Toy Vorsas. He served in the US Air Force, stationed in Alaska. He retired after 52 years with the US Postal Service, with many awards and recognition for excellence, including the two million mile achievement award. His favorite job was being Grandad, at which he also excelled. His quick wit, eclectic style and extensive knowledge of every random thing imaginable will live on in the personalities and character of his grandchildren. George was a man of unwavering integrity, deep generosity and compassion to others. He honored God in the way he lived life and loved others. Survivors include his two daughters and sons-in law: Alicia and Sam Emmerling of North Little Rock, Kristina and Kevin Ryan of Bradenton, Fla.; grandchildren: Thomas, Evan, Chloe and Samantha Emmerling, Hannah and Kristian Ryan; brother, Neal Vorsas (Linda); mother-in-law, Pauline Helton; and brother-in-law, Terry Helton. George was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, two sisters, and his wife of 47 years, Alice Marie Vorsas. Also, his best furry friend, Prince.
