Van Eugene Wilson

Van Eugene Wilson, age 77, of Rison went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. He was born August 19, 1940 in Rison, Arkansas, to the late Eugene and Willie Bearden Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a well known tile setter, having been owner - operator of Gene Wilson Tile for over sixty years. He was a faithful member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and a mason. Most everyone in the area knew Mr. Gene for his gardening and a man that put God first in his life. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Brown. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 15 years, Teresa Wilson of Rison; children, Michelle (Eric) Wilson Rawls of Rison, Marc Maroney of Rison, David Waters of Sheridan; siblings, Thomas Wilson of White Hall, Barbara Reed of Pine Bluff; grandchildren, Daniel and Eli Wilson Rawls, Alex and Ross Maroney, Cody Waters and a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison with Brother Robert Norris and Brother James Wehunt officiating. Interment will follow in Wilson Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 until 7 p.m., Friday, April 20, 2018 at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Ricky Fore, John Blanchard, Brad Wilson, Matthew Foote, Marc Foote and Michael Foote; honorary pallbearers are Wesley Leopard and Dale Motsinger. Memorials in Mr. Wilson's honor can be made to Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Youth Ministry Fund. Funeral arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
