JOHN CLARK BOVEIA, 76, of Maumelle, passed away on April 18, 2018. He was born in Applington, Iowa on June 23, 1941. John is survived by his childhood sweetheart and love of his life, his wife, Martha Wright Boveia; four daughters, D.G. Treglawn (John), Dianna Griffe (Todd), Dana Harvey (Ray) and Angelia Mock; bonus children, Leianne Lanning (Dave), Lance Goff (Cynthia), Leslie Goff and Lori Reimer; grandchildren, Chris (Liz), Nick (Holly), Nicki (Doug), Alicia (Drew), Kevin (Kayla), Lane (Heather), Adam, Nicole (J.J.), Levi (Jana), Jacob, Madison & Natalie; and great grandchildren Becka, Garrett, Kingston, Devin, Christian, Bristol, Kadense, Cash, Jayden, Aubrey, Harper, Brody, Dayton, Jace and Alden; sister, Joan Adcock; brother, David Boveia (Sybil). He is also survived by Kimberly Sweet, Cassie Peters, numerous nieces and nephews, Zack Harvey and Victoria Harvey. John was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy Kirkham, father, Clark Boveia and sister, Joyce Moore. After attending high school at Central High and Hall High, John served as an M.P. in the U. S. Army in Germany. He received an associate degree in Engineering while in the Army. He was employed as a service manager at Russell Chevrolet for 30 years. John is credited by his peers as the pioneer of stand-alone after-market fuel injection wiring harnesses and components. A performance car enthusiast, he had electronic ideas buzzing in his head from a very young age. John was first on the block with Tune Port Fuel Injection in 1985, but formally introduced in 1986 when Street & Performance Electronics was formed. John was the youngest of only two General Motors Master Technicians in the southern United States in 1963. In 1977, John graduated from the GM University of Automotive Management. In 1983, he was President of GM's "Only The Best Club." The October 1986 special issue of HOT ROD magazine ran an article on John and the fact that he was the first to install a GM TPI unit in something other than a stock application. In 1989, John was the winner of the most prestigious SEMA Award for best product. Funeral Services will be Thursday, April 26th at 11:30 am at Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Rd., Sherwood.
