Steven Royce Fortune

Steven Royce Fortune, age 54, of Cabot, Ark., passed away Friday April 13, 2018, surrounded by his loved ones. Steven was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Jimmie R. Fortune and Shirley M. Fortune of Batesville, Miss., grandparents, Earnest and Ella Mae Fortune and Joe and Veta Mae Morgan, uncle Don and aunt Carolyn Fortune, Kyla's grandparents, Virgil and Margaret Boyd, whom he helped care for. He is survived by his fiance', and love of his life, Kyla Baldwin of Cabot, Ark.; his daughter, Meri Morgan Fortune of Senatobia, Miss.; his sister, Dawn Fortune of Memphis, Tenn.; mother-in-law, Patricia Baldwin; sister-in-law Kasi (Matt) Ellis; niece, Mattie Ellis; as well as a host of loving family and friends. Steven also leaves behind his beloved Dachshunds, Macie, Emmy and Dash. Steve had an outgoing personality and never met a stranger. Steve was born on February 16, 1964 in Batesville, Mississippi. He was a member of the Batesville Church of Christ. Steve was employed as a machinist, specializing in the area of tool and die. He enjoyed restoring old cars, playing cards, spending time with family and friends and was at one time a nationally ranked foosball player. He was an avid Mississippi State Bulldog fan, enjoying football, baseball and girls' softball. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.
