Bennie Jean Wilson Black, age 86 of Monticello, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Ark. She was born November 30, 1931 in Drew County, Ark. to the late L.H. "Keel" Wilson and Gladys Gibson Wilson. She was the widow of William Floyd "Bill" Black, a homemaker and a member of New Hope Assembly of God Church. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, William Charles Black; a grandson she raised, Jeremy Black; two brothers, Aubrey "Buddy" Wilson and Charles Wilson. Bennie Wilson Black was a fun loving person. She enjoyed many things, most of all her family. Good books and movies, quilting, traveling and her "famous" afternoon naps were among her "Top Ten". Bennie was a great storyteller and never minced words. When Bennie told a story, they were so vivid and full of detail, it was if you were there. You were in for a special treat if Bennie chose to share one of her many stories with you. Survivors include a son, Andy Black of Fayetteville; one daughter, Lee Ann "Boo" Black of Monticello; son, Mark Black of Rogers; one brother, Larry Wilson and wife Charlotte of New Hope; two sisters, Martha Burton and Linda Berryman and husband Joe both of Green Hill; two grandsons, Will Black and wife Kaci of Bossier City, La. and Ben Black of Monticello; two great-grandchildren, Landyn Black and Knox Black; along many nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2018 at New Hope Assembly of God Church with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation one hour prior to the service at the Church.
