Rosemary Monaghan Gee

Rosemary Monaghan Gee passed away on August 17, 2018. At the time of her death Rosemary "Rosie" was 83 years old. She resided in Ocala, Florida and passed away in the loving care of her family and friends. Rosemary was born on October 28, 1934 in Memphis, Tennessee and lives most of her life in Blytheville Arkansas. She was one of two children of Matt and Irene Monaghan of Blytheville. Rosemary grew up in Blytheville Arkansas. She graduated from Blytheville High School and attended the University of Arkansas. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority at the University of Arkansas. Rosemary was married to E.B. Gee Jr. on March 6, 1955. Soon after her marriage her husband entered the United States Air Force and they resided in Scott Field, Illinois for two years. Rosemary is survived by her loving husband, E.B. Gee Jr., Rosemary and E.B. celebrated their 63rd anniversary on March 6th, 2018. Rosemary and E.B. had four children, E.B. Gee III, Ginger Irene Gee, Gail Thomas Gee and Gregory Andrew Gee. They suffered the loss of Gail and Greg to heart problems at early ages. They have seven fine grandchildren. After returning from Scott Field, Illinois to Blytheville, Arkansas, Rosemary became involved in the various educational functions of Chapter D of PEO. She served as President on two different occasions. Rosemary was appointed by the Mayor of Blytheville, Arkansas to serve on the Original Ritz Commission. The City of Blytheville had purchased the old downtown movie theatre. Her committee oversaw the conversion into a municipal auditorium and drew plans, rules and regulations for its use. Rosemary was also the President of the Blytheville Junior Auxiliary Charitable Organization. Rosemary and her husband moved to Ocala, Florida. Rosemary became an active member of Chapter CT of PEO. She served as its president for one year. In 2017, Rosemary was recognized as being a 60 year Member of PEO Sisterhood. Rosemary served as a Deacon in the First Presbyterian Church of Ocala. Rosemary participated in many Bible Study Classes as well as the Women's Circle Group. Rosemary always had a great interest in playing bridge. This hobby was practiced in both Arkansas and Ocala. In Ocala, she played with two bridge groups on a weekly basis and by many accounts was a very skillful Bridge player. Rosie was famous among her peers for being supportive of her husband's many activities. Some of these were travel for business, horse shows, cattle sales, Polled Hereford Association events and many golf tournaments. On Rosemary and E.B.'s 60th anniversary, Rosemary was presented a medal that her husband always said that she deserved. This medal commemorated 60 years of love and commemorated Rosemary as a Fantastic Wife, Great Mother, Best Buddy, Family Stabilizer, a great caddy, a great groom, and for putting up with her husband. For all those years. At the time of her death Rosie also known as "Sweetie Pie" resided in Ocala, Fla. and is survived by her husband E.B., She is also survived by son Everett B. Gee, III and his wife Suzanne and her daughter Ginger Irene Gee. She is also survived by grandchildren, Rebecca Morales, Rosemary Gail Pease, Greg Gee Jr. Dustin Gee, Everett Gee IV and seven great grandchildren. Rosie is also survived by her sister Barbara Sherman of Memphis. There will be a memorial service to celebrate Rosemary's life at the First Presbyterian Church in Ocala, Florida on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 11:00 am. Her remains will be interred in the family plot in Blytheville Arkansas.
