Neville Don Hopson

Mr. Neville Don Hopson, age 85, a resident of Magazine, Arkansas, died Sunday, August 26, 2018 at his home. He was born to Neville Woodson and Cleo Christine Gore Hopson in Falls Chapel, Arkansas on May 24, 1933. He was a graduate of Ashdown High School, and Draughns Radio School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Don was a First-Class Radio Engineer and Broadcaster. He worked many Stations including KDQN, De Queen and KLRA, Little Rock, before putting KVYL on the Air in Holdenville, Oklahoma, which he and his wife owned from 1964 to 1979. Retiring to the Blue Mountain Community in Logan County, Arkansas, where he was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Booneville, Arkansas. Don was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother-in-law, Tommy Canion. He is survived by his wife of over 58 years, Mary Ann Izard Hopson of Magazine; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Wink DeWayne Hopson and Jennifer, Shane Brent and Vicki Hopson, and Travis Neville Hopson; a daughter and son-in-law, Karlyn Kay and Larry Johnson; five grandchilden, Ryne, Mylynn, Lauren, Isabella, and Shannon; one brother, Rodney Brent and his wife Deanna Hopson, M.D.; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Helena Jantine Canion, and Charla Beth and Gary Tucker; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mr. Don Hopson will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 1 p.m. in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lee Canada officiating.
