Stephen Wesley Kerr

Stephen Wesley Kerr, Distinguished Professor at Hendrix College, passed away on February 7, 2018. He was born August 26, 1954 in Santa Monica, California to Nina June Crownover Kerr and Randolph Cecil Kerr. He was preceded in death by his mother and Rose. He is survived by his father, Randolph, his brothers Paul Jeffrey Kerr (Carol) and John Bradley Kerr, his good friend Paula Diane Kerr and his beloved nieces, Natalie June Kerr, Catherine Jo Kerr-Mullinax, Allison Paige Cobb (Jon) and Sarah Christine Drachenberg (Philipp). He was a much admired and well-respected professor for 37 years at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. He was an avid Warriors basketball and baseball fan. Members of the men's Warrior baseball team gave Stephen special recognition for his support in 2011 when he served as the team's Faculty Fellow. Additionally, in 2011, he was installed as the Virginia A. McCormick Pittman Distinguished Professor of Economics and Business. The family would like to recognize Angela Carson, David Mlang'a and Mary DeLeon for their support and kindness during his illness, as well as Drs. Tim Freyaldenhoven and Richard Calhoun. We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to Tom and Patty Siebenmorgan and family for their continual love and commitment to Stephen. Visitation will be held at Smith Family Funeral Home in North Little Rock, Arkansas on Friday, February 9 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 10 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 1610 Prince Street, Conway, Arkansas.
