MURRAY GEORGE BARTON At age 92, Murray George Barton, born Sept 13, 1925, joined his "3 angels" (his mother and 2 aunts) and passed away peacefully at Hospice Home Care Inpatient Center on Feb 7, 2018. Murray had a larger than life personality that endeared him to many. Even as his body was failing him, his inner light burned brightly. "MG" grew up in New York City and enlisted in the army during WWII. He survived the Battle of the Bulge, later earning his BA and MSW and retiring from the VA as a social work administrator. Murray met the love of his life, Elaine, when she was 15 and they married 3 years later. MG was the consummate family man. Love for his "DNA" and others he "adopted" was the center and driving force in his life. He was never heard to say he did not have time if approached by a family member. MG loved life. He instilled a strong work ethic and modeled being a passionate lifelong learner. Numerous family trips developed a love of travel in all three children. He will never be forgotten and leaves an unfillable void. Survivors include his wife, Elaine, age 87, three children - Francine B. (Dr. Eric Del Giacco), Dr. Doug Barton (Guniz) and Dr. Gary Barton (Kristi), 6 grandchildren — Rachel Johnson (Derek), Alex Barton (Alecia), Caroline Chang (Jon), Justin Barton, Claire Barton, and Reid Barton, and 3 great grandchildren, Lilly, Arthur, and Alan Johnson. Many thanks for devoted care to Judy, Lori, Ali, and Theresa and to the Hospice Home Care and inpatient staff. A private family memorial will be held. Those wishing to honor his memory may make donations to AETN, P.O. Box 1250, Conway, Ark., 72033 (www.aetn.org) or KUAR/KLRE (www.ualrpublicradio.org) 1-800-952-2528.
