Dorothy Irene Smith, 92, passed away Dec. 29, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born on April 23, 1925 in Naylor, Mo., to John and Maude Wilson. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Charles, whom she was married to for 58 years. She is also preceded in death by her son, Jan, her parents, three brothers, one sister and two grandchildren. Dorothy was known for her cooking skills and could make a meal out of anything. She would make a big garden every year which helped make huge meals for her family. Her homemade pies and cakes were enjoyed by her family and friends. Dorothy was an employee of the Cabot Public School district for many years as a cafeteria worker. She loved to see all the children come through the lunch line. It also gave her an opportunity to see many of her grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by her children, Charlene Rohrscheib, Regina (Gus) Lachowsky, Joseph (Nancy) Smith, Douglas Smith, Timothy (Petra) Smith, Tamara (Michael) Lott, Kimberly Smith, Mark (Jae) Smith, Charles (Betty) Smith and Barbara Smith. She was a proud grandparent of 28 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., on Wednesday evening, Jan. 03, 2018 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home (501) 843-5816. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 04, 2018 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cabot. The family wishes to give special thanks to the staff at Robinson Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in North Little Rock, Ark., as well as Kindred Hospice who helped in her care.
