Patsy Gene McNeese

Patsy Gene Slaten McNeese was called home to the Lord on January 6, 2018. She spent her final days surrounded by family and friends in her home. Patsy was born on February 8, 1945 to Walter Lee Slaten and Mamie Loreen Eden in Heber Springs, Arkansas. She was the youngest out of six siblings. Patsy worked for the Ely Shirt Factory and later in life worked in state, county, and local government. She loved her community and volunteered her time to the Cleburne County Historical Society and the Heber Springs High School Decade Reunion Committee. She served as an alderman for the City of Heber Springs. She was an active member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Heber Springs and accepted the Lord as her savior at the age of 10. Patsy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Willard Paul McNeese; daughters, Pamela Lockard and husband Ben of Mountain View, Ark. and Patricia Ellis of Carmel, Ind.; three grandchildren, Lauren Hoffman and husband Matthew of Conway, Ark.; Alexis Lockard of Conway, Ark.; Cordelia Ellis of Carmel, Ind., two sisters, Pansy Allen of Independence, Mo. and Betty Phillips of Heber Springs, Ark.; two brothers, Don Slaten of Raytown, Mo. and Billy Slaten of Blue Springs, Mo. Patsy is also survived by numerous other family and friends. Patsy is proceeded in death by both of her parents and a sister, Wanda Sue Murphee. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Cleburne County Historical Society. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Heber Springs Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, January 11 at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Heber Springs. Internment will be in Heber Springs Cemetery. www.heberspringsfuneralhome.com.
