Jo Ann Johnson

Jo Ann Johnson, 81, of Cabot, was called home on Friday January 12, 2018. She was born in Memphis, TN on May 4, 1936 to the late James Monroe Laughlin and Cynthia Pearl Lain Laughlin. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Elton "Jay" Johnson, and her siblings Howard Laughlin, Sarah Sessum, Oshana Jackson, and James Laughlin. Jo Ann was a member of First Baptist Church of Cabot. She loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. Spending time with her sisters, decorating and meeting with her church friends are just a few things she enjoyed. The annual "girls' weekend" with her daughters spent shopping, eating, talking and laughing provided lasting memories. Her "Birthday Group" has been faithful to each other for over 50 years. Wonderful memories were made traveling with both family and friends, and she made new friends everywhere she went! We will all miss her. Jo Ann is survived by her children: Jay Johnson, Cynthia Wood, and April Phillips; grandchildren Daryl Johnson, Jordan Richardson, Cole Wood, Sarah Phillips, and Lane Phillips; great grandson Beckett Richardson; and her siblings Hayes Laughlin, May Lena Parker, Jeannie Fitts, Rachel Powell, and Thelma Bell.
