Alice Jean Knighton Young

Alice Jean Knighton Young, of Prattsville, Ark., was born March 2, 1934, in Stamps, Ark., the daughter of the late Clarence Robert and Evie Andrews Knighton. She was a member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville, and a retired bank teller. She enjoyed sewing, word puzzles, crocheting, embroidery and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Evelyn Rogers and Thelma Wright and her brothers, Clarence Homer Knighton and Keith Knighton. Mrs. Young died Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Malvern at the age of 83. Survivors: husband, Victor H. Young of Prattsville; daughters, Vicki (Robert) Heath of Buckville, Sherry (Robert) Mooney of Prattsville; sisters, Nada Clement of Pine Bluff, Erma Aldridge of Waldo, Ola Hooper of Kilgore, Texas; sister-in-law, Joyce Knighton of Denison, Texas; six grandchildren, Trey Heath, Barry Heath, Jennifer Gibbs, Amanda McCall, Robert Mooney and P.J. Mooney; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, 2018, at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville, with Bro. Don Goodman officiating. Memorials may be made to Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church, P.O.
