Redmond Gregsby "Chip" Stewart V, age 45, passed away, Thursday, Jan. 25. He was the son of Greg and Cindy Stewart of DeWitt. Born in Memphis, Tenn., he grew up at Wheatley, Ark., and became a graduate of Wheatley- Palestine High School. Chip was a freelance writer, publishing articles about hunting, for the local papers and several hunting magazines. At the time of his death he was working on his second book entitled "The Scarlet Worm". He supported and worked with the Ted Nugent's Camp for Kids and was a regional director for Eastern Arkansas for The Ted Nugent United Sportsmen of American. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and the Ted Nugent World Bow Hunters. He enjoyed listening to all kinds of music, visiting with friends and collected stamps and coins. He is survived by his parents, Greg & Cindy Stewart, and his sister, Tammy Downey (Rob) of Germantown, Tenn., two nephews, Luke and Brock Downey. He was preceded in death by his sister, April Stewart. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 28 at the Wheatley United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Johnson Cemetery at Wheatley. Immediately after the burial, the family will gather at the Wheatley United Methodist Church fellowship hall to visit with family and friends. In lieu of flowers memorial may be given to: DeWitt Hospital and Nursing Home, 1641 S. Whitehead Dr., DeWitt, AR 72042. Bob Neal & Sons Funeral-Brinkley is in charge of arrangements.
