LEON YIELDING, 80, of North Little Rock, departed this earth on June 13, 2018 to be with his beloved wife Pat and his heavenly family. Cleveland "Leon" Yielding was born and raised in Ward, Ark., the youngest of eight children. He moved to North Little Rock in 1955 and started his first job working as a mechanic at a gas station in Park Hill where he ultimately met his lifelong companion, Pat. The two married on June 12, 1957, started a family, and celebrated 61 years together. Leon began his career working for the North Little Rock Electric Department where he worked 40+ years before retiring in 2001. He was also a realtor with Crye-Leike and assisted Pat with her catering service, Tasty Presentations. Leon loved the outdoors and enjoyed bird hunting and fishing. He was an avid Razorback fan who never missed a game and loved supporting the team as a season ticket holder. Rarely did you see him without his favorite Razorback cap. His first and utmost priority was his family, but he was also a committed member of the Lakewood Methodist Church and was involved with their men's ministry as well as hospitality for various events. He was always ready and willing to help wherever needed, and "no" was never an option. Leon is preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland and Leona Yielding; his wife, Patricia Yielding; son, Jimmy Yielding; two brothers, Charlie Yielding and Ray Yielding; four sisters, Naomi Yielding, Lena Mae Dawson, Clara Howell, and Mattie Lee Hefner; and son-in-law, Brad Broadaway. He is survived by his daughter Janet Broadaway of Lonoke; granddaughters, Tara Yielding of Little Rock and Jessica Pope (husband Brandon) of Maumelle; grandson, Ben Broadaway of Fayetteville; great-granddaughters Kori, Mila, Evelyn, and June Pope; sister Dea Cullen; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be held at Lakewood United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, immediately followed by the service at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Monk Cemetery in Ward.
