Mary Ellen Culp

Mary Ellen Culp, of Springdale, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 83 years old. She was born on Sept. 3, 1934, in Magnolia, Ark. to Winfred Vernon and Marie (Robertson) Griffin. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Barry Phillip Culp, and her brother James Griffin. Mary Ellen was Homecoming Queen at Southern Arkansas University in 1953. She loved working in the yard, loved cooking, and was a big sport fan. All of her children and grandchildren loved her cooking. She was a great mom with a big heart, and she will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her, and who were loved by her. Mary Ellen is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jimmy Haywood Culp, of Springdale; three sons Jimmy Culp Jr. and wife Cheryl of Elkins, David Culp and wife Betty of Lowell, and Greg Culp and wife Carla of Fayetteville; a daughter Suzanne Baird and husband Steve of Fayetteville; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many other nieces, nephews, and loved ones. A visitation will be help on Tuesday, June 19, from 5-7 p.m. at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 20, at 10 a.m. at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
