Mr. Albert A. Hess age 93, of Wynne, Arkansas died Friday, June 15, 2018 at the Crossridge Community Hospital in Wynne. Mr. Hess was born November 22, 1924 in Wynne. He was the son of John J. Hess and Rose Snyder Hess. Mr. Hess was a farmer, businessman, Veteran of World War II and a member of St. Peters Catholic Church. He was Cross County Bank Board of Directors Vice President, Crowley's Ridge Country Club President 1985-1992, Cross County Farm Family in 1983, Past Chairman Arkansas Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service State Committee, Riceland Foods Inc. Board of Directors, Cross County Citizen of the Year 2016, Knights of Columbus, Friends of Animals member, Paul Harris Fellow, and a member of the Republican National Committee. Mr. Hess married Barbara Ann Ladd in 1970. She survives him along with three daughters Candy Naff "Gregg Powers" of Arlington, Tenn., Jan Hess "Butch Peeler" of Wynne and Lynn Baum "Mike" of Guntown, Miss.; stepson Butch Kelley of Wynne and a stepdaughter Katrina Newkirk "Bill" of Liberty, Texas; five sisters Clara Hylle of Wynne, Margaret Boeckmann of Wynne, Betty Buergler of Talbott, Tenn., Dorothy Dettlinger ‘Ronnie" of Illinois and Ruth Wilson Miller "Lowell" of Morristown, Tenn.; two brothers Paul Hess and Bobby Hess "Carol" both of Wynne; eight grandchildren William Harry Newkirk III "Angie", Ashley Law "Josh", Hunter Ladd Newkirk "Paula", Mason Lane Lace, Taylor Musgrove "Andrew", Murray Lynn Lace, Cody Parker Kelley, and James Albert Kelley; seven great grandchildren Shane Myles Drake, Reed Allen Drake, Cayde Elisabeth Newkirk, Mason Ladd Newkirk, Colsyn Rae Newkirk, Nathaniel James Law and Abigail Rose Law. Mr. Hess was preceded in death by a daughter Donna Hess and three brothers and two sisters and his parents. There will be a Rosary at 5:00 p.m. with visitation to follow at 5:30 p.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 1695 Falls Blvd, Wynne, Ark., 72396 on Monday, June 18, 2018. The Funeral Mass will be held the following morning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peters with burial to follow at Cogbill Cemetery. The family request memorials be made to Wynne Friends of Animals, P.O.
