Jessie Borders, 77, of North Little Rock passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018. He was born July 20, 1940 in Lonoke County, Arkansas to Sam and Ruth Sewell Borders. He was an appliance repairman for General Electric and retired after more than 30 years. He was a Deacon at Central Baptist Church, a member of the Saline Hunting Club, loved fishing, hunting and was an outdoorsman. Jessie is survived by his wife of 56 years, Myrtle Borders; daughter, Tracey Borders Johnson (Lance); daughter-in-law, Bethany Borders; sister, Mary Lou Jenkinson (Colin); two brothers, Clifton Gordon (Judy) and Larry Gordon (Terry); grandchildren, Hayden, Aaron, Caleb and Mallory Borders, Lily and Lorelai Johnson; and numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Thomas Borders; brothers, J.W. Onstead and Charles Borders; and his sister, Linda Munnerlyn. Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church Building Fund, 5200 Fairway Ave., North Little Rock, Arkansas 72116. Funeral service will be 9:30 a.m., Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Central Baptist Church. A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 20th at Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home.
