Ava Griffin 95 of Logan Community, Benton County, Arkansas, died Sunday, June 17, 2018, in Springdale, Arkansas. Born December 17, 1922, in Evening Star Community near Cave Springs, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Jim Heagerty and May Blair Heagerty. Ava was a graduate of Vaughn High School where she played basketball and went by the nick name "Hank". She married Lee Griffin January 24, 1943, in Logan, and together they owned and operated a Dairy Farm. He preceded her in death in 1985. She was a long time active member of Highfill Methodist Church. Ava was also a 4-H leader and remained active in the Benton County organization until her death. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee and one great-granddaughter, Blythe Lee Irby. Survivors include a son, Jim Griffin and wife Jackie of Logan Community; two daughters, Nancy Irby and husband John of Skiatook, Oklahoma; Jeanie Strasner and husband Steve of Russellville, Arkansas. six grandsons, Clayton Irby and wife Andrea; Sam Strasner and wife Heather; Scott Strasner and wife Jodi; Jessie Griffin and wife Rachel; Stan Strasner; and Lee Griffin and wife Casey; two granddaughters, Christa Arnold and husband Johathan and Julie Griffin; three great-grandsons, Knox Griffin; Hank Griffin; Seth Strasner and six great-granddaughters, Morgan Stevens; Layla Irby; Preslee Arnold; Sophie Strasner; Lyric Griffin and Jordyn Arnold. Visitation will be Friday, June 22, 2018, from 6 to 8 pm. at Wasson Funeral Home, Silloam Springs, Arkansas. Funeral services will 2 p.m. Saturday June 23, 2018, at Highfill Baptist Church with Rev.
