William Rudolph Findley, age 90, passed on to glory June 18, 2018 to be forever with the Lord. Bill was born in Black Rock, Arkansas to Olen and Elizabeth Findley on February 17, 1928. He was preceded in death by his brother Norris Findley, his sons-in-law, Randy Casady, and David Lee; his grandson, Joshua Howard and granddaughter, Christina Greenstreet. Bill was a proud WWll veteran who loved his country and answered the call to serve in the U.S. Army Infantry Division in Japan and the Pacific theater. Upon returning home from the war, he met a beautiful young girl and fell in love. Ruth Evelyn Hankla became the love of his life and they were married in Sulphur Springs, Arkansas by Bill's Dad, the Reverend Olen R. Findley, on February 28, 1949. They shared 69 rich and full years together as man and wife. Bill and Ruth were blessed with 3 daughters and their spouses, whom Dad very quickly called his sons. Vicki and her husband Chuck, Terri and her husband Randy (D), Debi and her husband Dave (D). God richly blessed the family adding 10 grandchildren and their spouses, 27 great-grandchildren and their spouses, and seven great-great-grandchildren, for a total of 68 in the Findley family lines. Bill worked at Cessna Aircraft Co. in Wichita, Kansas for 38 years before retiring and moving to Rogers, Arkansas where he and Ruth built a home together and have lived for 28 years. Bill was a unique individual loved by so many. He was a kind, tender hearted giant of a man with an ornery sense of humor and a twinkle in his eye. He was a hard worker coming from that WW11 generation and willing always to offer a helping hand to a neighbor, his church, his kids, wherever was a need. He loved his wife dearly, his children and grandchildren, his friends and so many others God brought across his path to encourage or pray for. Bill loved the Lord, and was a born again, baptized believer. He and Ruth together shared their love for Jesus in song and their faithful witness of Him. He was greatly loved and will be forever missed till we see him again in Heaven someday. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Thursday June 21, 2018 at Benton County Funeral Home , 306 N. 4th St., Rogers, Arkansas.
