John Dicken Izard, 86, passed away on February 26, 2018, surrounded by his loving wife and three daughters. John was born on December 18, 1931 in Van Buren, Arkansas to Clyman Edward Izard and Bessie Maud (Dicken) Izard. He was the proud alumnus of the University of Arkansas where he graduated in 1953. He was a cheerleader for the Razorbacks (and he never let us forget it). He was a banker for his entire professional career, working in banks in Van Buren, Ark., Tulsa, Okla., and Norman, Okla. John and his wife Susan retired to Little Rock, Ark., and recently moved to San Antonio, Texas, to be closer to family. John was loved and will be missed by his wife Susan (Chatfield) Izard and daughters Bethany Izard, Amanda Burke and Sarah Izard and their partners, as well as his six adoring grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Betty Boyd Blackwood, brother Clyman E. Izard, Jr. and daughter Katherine Clyman Izard. More than anything, we will miss his corny jokes, his handsome face, and nights spent sitting on the porch looking at the stars while he sang us sweet, sentimental songs. He was devoted to his family above all else. There will be no service at this time. HIs family will have a private ceremony this summer.
